Nature

From the towering peaks of the Cordillera Blanca to the subtropical valleys, the landscape of the Northern Andes is defined by an incredible diversity of scenery and microclimates.

Traveling from Huaraz toward Cajamarca and Chachapoyas, the journey takes you from high-altitude steppes and turquoise lagoons to the lushness of the selva alta (high-altitude rainforest). This unique terrain harbors exceptional flora, where forests of bromeliads and wild orchids give way to coffee plants and giant ferns. It is also a sanctuary for precious, well-preserved wildlife; here, the majestic flight of the Andean condor and the vibrant plumage of the Andean cock-of-the-rock share the landscape with numerous endemic hummingbird species and the elusive spectacled bear.
