Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Tarapoto – Transfer to Moyobamba

Welcome to the Amazon! Upon your arrival at Tarapoto airport, your private driver and guide will greet you warmly. You’ll take to the road toward Moyobamba, the « City of Orchids. » After settling into your hotel, enjoy a free afternoon to relax at the rhythm of the jungle or explore the surroundings at your own pace.

Day 2: Tingana Community Reserve

Early departure to reach the Tingana reserve, a wetland ecological paradise unique in the world. Led by passionate local guides, you’ll paddle silently by dugout canoe across calm waters to observe wildlife in its natural habitat: capuchin monkeys, tropical birds, coatis, and sloths. A moment of total reconnection with nature, followed by a traditional lunch prepared on site by the community. Return to Moyobamba at the end of the day.

Day 3: Moyobamba – Lamas – Pumarinri

Today you’ll leave Moyobamba to head to the Huallaga River valley. Along the way, you’ll stop in Lamas, a fascinating town perched on a hill where colonial history and the living traditions of the Quechua-Lamista community coexist. You’ll discover their unique crafts before continuing on to your lodge, a true haven of peace nestled on the riverbank, at the entrance to the Huallaga canyon.

Day 4: Chazuta: Traditions, Ceramics, and Cacao

A day full of sharing and discovery awaits you in Chazuta, a village known for preserving its ancestral skills. You’ll visit Chacra Pasikiwi, a traditional farm where you’ll learn the secrets of organic cacao cultivation and take part in a craft demonstration. Next, you’ll visit the local ceramics museum and watch a demonstration of clay work, a unique art passed down through generations by the women of the village. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon.

Day 5: Pumarinri – Transfer to Tarapoto Airport & Flight to Lima

After one last breakfast facing the Amazon wilderness, your private driver will pick you up from the eco-lodge to take you to Tarapoto airport. From there you’ll take your return flight to Lima, your head full of unforgettable memories.

Included: Private transfer to the airport, English-speaking guide, breakfast.

A trip with positive impact: A tour that actively supports local communities and biodiversity, including a contribution to the reforestation of the ACP Milpuj and support for the Cuispes school.

What’s included:

  • Accommodation: 4 nights in a double room at selected charming establishments (Hotel Alta Vista and Hotel Pumarinri).
  • Transportation: All ground transfers and drives listed in the itinerary, in a private vehicle with driver.
  • Guidance: The services of a private, certified expert English-speaking guide throughout the trip (as well as specialized local guides at Tingana).
  • Meals: All breakfasts (Days 2, 3, 4, and 5) and the full lunch at the Tingana reserve (Day 2).
  • Visits and activities: All entrance fees, excursions, cultural visits, and craft demonstrations listed in the itinerary (Tingana, Lamas, Chazuta, Chacra Pasikiwi, Museum).
  • Solidarity and environmental initiatives: Your direct contribution to the reforestation projects within the Milpuj Private Conservation Area (ACP) and financial support for the Cuispes elementary school.
